Super Hair Removal (SHR) is a gentler approach to long-term hair reduction. Traditional laser and standard IPL treatments deliver a single high-intensity pulse, whereas SHR delivers rapid, low-energy pulses that gradually heat the hair follicle.
During treatment, the handpiece glides continuously over the skin, often called the “in-motion” technique, giving even coverage of the treatment area. Most clients find it much more comfortable than traditional laser, and treatments are quick: small areas take just a couple of minutes.

Long-Term Hair Reduction
Clients can achieve up to approximately 90% hair reduction, but individual results vary and cannot be guaranteed. Hormones, medications, age and other factors can influence future hair growth, so maintenance treatments may be needed over time. Any regrowth is often finer and lighter.
Treatment Plan & Recommendations
For best results, we generally recommend a course of 6 to 10 SHR sessions, although some clients may need more depending on hair growth, the treatment area, hormones and individual response. Treatments usually begin around 4 weeks apart. This timing works with your hair's natural growth cycle, so follicles are treated during their active growth phase.
As your treatment course progresses, sessions are gradually spaced out to around 6–8 weeks. Once your desired result has been reached, maintenance treatments may be needed over time.

Is SHR Right for You?
SHR can be used for hair reduction on the face and body for women and men aged 18 and over. It is suitable for most skin tones, including olive and darker skin, and every client is assessed individually before treatment.
Hair Colour Matters
SHR relies on pigment (melanin) in the hair, so it is most effective on darker hair. Blonde, red, grey and white hair generally do not contain enough pigment for reliable results.
When Treatment May Need to Wait
SHR may need to be postponed, or may not be suitable, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have recently tanned or had significant sun exposure, or have active skin infection or inflammation, open wounds, certain skin conditions or tattoos in the treatment area.
Some medications increase light sensitivity. After certain antibiotics and other photosensitising medications, you may need to wait around two weeks after finishing. After oral isotretinoin (Roaccutane), our clinic policy is to wait six months before starting SHR.
If you're unsure about a medication or medical condition, we'll assess it before proceeding and may ask for medical clearance. Every client begins with a free consultation and patch test.
Preparing for Your Treatment & Aftercare
A little preparation before your appointment, and the right care afterwards, can help keep your treatment comfortable and your skin settled.
Before Your SHR Treatment

Stop waxing, plucking or epilating the area around 4–6 weeks before starting SHR, as the hair needs to remain in the follicle for treatment. Between appointments, you can shave or trim, but avoid waxing, plucking or epilating.

Shave the treatment area the day before your appointment.

Avoid tanning or significant sun exposure for around 2–4 weeks before treatment. Your skin shouldn't be sunburnt or actively tanned on the day.

Make sure any fake tan is completely removed.
After Your SHR Treatment

For around 48 hours after treatment, avoid hot showers or baths, swimming, saunas, strenuous exercise, fake tan and active or irritating skincare on the treated area.

Avoid direct sun exposure on the treated area and apply SPF when it's exposed.

If your underarms feel warm, sensitive or irritated, avoid deodorant until the area has settled.

A soothing gel can be used if needed.

After around 7–10 days, gentle exfoliation can help treated hairs shed naturally.

Mild redness, warmth or small bumps around the follicles can occur temporarily. If you have an unexpected or persistent reaction, contact the clinic for advice.
